Hey there! Hope you're doing fine. It's been years since I've last posted here on my blog and lots have changed! Really... it's a lot!!! #2020 This is not a clickbait post. I really did a Kids Workout Program called Double Time Workout by Beachbody®. The company was very generous during this pandemic because they offered Double Time and other Kids Workout Program for free until further notice. Link to the website: https://vimeo.com/showcase/6880106 You might ask, "Why do a beginner workout instead of an intermediate or advanced one?" And my answer to that is because, 'I had shoulder pain for quite sometime now.' It was a clicking and popping kind of pain where doing pull-ups and rows were nearly impossible. I was hesitant at first to do this program because I am fond of doing any workout that Tony Horton and Shaun T offers. But sadly, lifting weights wasn't an option and I needed something that would help strengthen my joints and small muscles that I've neglected in the past. Double Time seemed to be the perfect solution! I did not follow the workout calendar as prescribed but instead, I exercised four times a week alternating between resistance and cardio routines. You can experiment what works for you as this seemed to be working for me. After a month of doing Double Time, my joints and small muscles especially around the shoulders are now stronger than ever. There is less clicking and popping sounds and because of this, I can now progress to intermediate types of workout again. Doing a Kids Workout Program isn't as bad at it seems. In fact, it may be the one that you need in order to rehabilitate your body especially if you've been doing intense workouts for quite sometime. Give your body a break and give Double Time a try. 🙂 **Always consult your doctors before starting any workout program especially if you have underlying health issues or injuries. It's an honor to be featured by Multisport.ph.😊 I hope to inspire more people with my transformation story. http://multisport.ph/2017/10/saw-mirror-couldnt-believe-far-ive-let/ Since a lot of people can't get enough of this song, I decided to put a little twist on it. ☺ Day 5 - 22 Minute Hard Corps Special Ops Resistance I haven't posted regularly but I have been on track with the 30 day calendar from our group. It's my first time doing Special Ops Resistance and I will take notes from my performance on this video. Hope you enjoy! :) It consists of 3 rounds of 5 exercises with minimal rest in between them done within 22 minutes.
After the workout, I was drenched in sweat as I face the camera. Who said you can't have a proper workout for a short amount of time? My aim is to progress and not perfection. Until then, stay tuned! 😊 Another month has passed and a new month has just began. I'm always excited to tackle on a new month because there is this feeling of a fresh perspective. A blank page if you will, to be filled with new goals and intentions. September came by quickly and it didn't feel good for me. There were lots of days when I was sick and had overall negativity. Exercise for me was a big factor to feel positive but unfortunately, I had been skipping workouts here and there. I was so glad when I saw one of my favorite personal trainers' post a few weeks ago. Tony Horton created a Facebook group where he would be accountable with the members for 30 days. It started on Monday, October 2, 2017 and had more than 8,300 members to date. I didn't hesitate in joining because I knew I would be working out with like-minded individuals whose goals were to better themselves also. https://www.facebook.com/groups/TonyHortonsFitnessFusion Even after a post-workout selfie, my sweat was still pouring. I was a day behind the schedule because of a terrible headache but I had been feeling good today that was why I did 22 Minute Hard Corps Cardio 1.
Let's keep the momentum rolling! Until then, stay tuned! ☺ It's been a while since I posted a blog and I couldn't be more excited to share this one. ☺ I celebrated my birthday last Friday, August 18, 2017. I am very grateful to have celebrated it with my family and friends. It was a very busy week filled with laughter, photo shots, and lessons from the word of God. It was tiring to say the least but it was very much worth it. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with a cold for two days now but it was mostly due to my bad choices in life prior and during the week of my birthday. Here are the lessons that I should take note: 1. Don't go on a diet half-heartedly - I went on a bulking diet to gain weight and increase my strength. I've been almost always on maintenance calories and I've noticed that I am getting thinner to look at that's why I decided to bump up my calories especially carbs for 4 weeks. I extended it to 5 weeks because of my birthday week and I never felt so lethargic in my life. 2. Always create new goals - After attaining the visibility of my abdominal muscles a couple of months ago, I became lenient in my training and nutrition because I thought I had it all. Neither did I know that some of my old eating habits that were not good appeared once again here and there. 3. Worry less and prioritize sleep - I couldn't blame Facebook for being such an addictive tool when it comes to being informed with the latest happenings around the world. Just hearing a notification from Facebook will make your endorphins rush because "Hey, someone noticed me!" Staying up late at night definitely made my pimples break out again. I don't usually post my goals for everyone to see, but I need your help this time to hold me accountable. Here are some of the goals that I would tackle: 1. Go on an Elimination Diet - I've watched a video on YouTube which discussed the side-effects of dairy with regards to pimples that is why I will limit my consumption of milk and cheese for three weeks to see if this has any truth to it. 2. Get more sunlight - I workout mostly at our garage and I've been feeling a little bit bored of it that is why I will go to the playground to workout for a change. I'll post a video soon which would be fun! 3. Limit internet until 9:00 PM - No more late night internet surfing! Sleep is a very important bodily function that is why it shouldn't be compromised. I will aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Setting small goals definitely lit the fire inside of me once again! On another note, the last date of the #1MinuteBurpeeChallengePH video submission will be tomorrow. If you haven't liked my video submission yet, please do click the link below: https://www.facebook.com/german.amurao/videos/1476743299057719/ Liking my video will be close to giving me a gift for my birthday this year. With your help, I can have this once in a lifetime chance to enter the Spartan Sprint Philippines happening at Timberland Heights, San Mateo, Rizal on September 16. 2017. It's so nice to be back! Looking forward to more blogs in the future. Until then, stay tuned! ☺ It had been more than two weeks since the International Day of Yoga Philippines 2017 was held at SM Mall of Asia’s Music Hall. It’s my first time to attend this yoga event but this was Embassy of India in Manila’s third year of celebrating it. I went there by myself even though a friend couldn’t accompany me that day because I really love yoga. The diversity of people in the event was obvious. Different nationalities, ages, genders, and skin colors were present. But everybody had the same goal which was to experience the wonderful practice of yoga. I sat beside an Iranian couple and I got to know them for a short period of time. They had been doing yoga for quite some time also because one of their family members teaches yoga. I just recently found out through a news article that the guy I've talked with was the Deputy Head of the Iranian Embassy. It’s amazing because I asked him to look out for my big sports bag while I went to the restroom. Unfortunately, I hadn’t thanked them for their act of kindness due to the continuous yoga classes and also because they left early. But thanks to the news article, I've been reaching out and hopefully I can thank them in person. The next act of kindness I experienced during that day was from a group of girls beside me also. As the International Day of Yoga Philippines was nearing its end, a lot of people near me had left already because the event was almost 5 hours long and it was really a tiring one. The girls to my right finished along side with me. I even asked one of them to look out for my bag because I needed to go to the restroom again. When I got back, the same thing happened as I didn’t get a chance to thank them because of the continuous yoga classes. As I end this story, I am hopeful that having this article posted online might give me a higher chance of reaching out to them so I can express my gratitude. I did my best to search for these people on the internet through the official hastag of #IDayofYogaPH but I was out of luck. Not everyday do we see acts of kindness from strangers that is why my faith in humanity is at an all-time high. Do you happen to know these people that I've mentioned? Please don't hesitate to message me so I can connect with them. Until then, stay tuned! ☺ This is one of my favorite yoga sequences and because of that, I've made a shortened version of it which is perfect for our busy lives. This Mountain Pose Yoga series focuses on the opening and stretching of the arms, chest, and the back side of the body. Feel free to practice this short sequence any time of the day. #habitwhisperer #mountainpose #yoga Thumbs up if you LIKED it and Share if you LOVED it! ☺ Happy International Day of Yoga! June 21 has been declared the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations after the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared in his address to the UN General Assembly: “Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being." last December 2014. I was very fortunate to get a notice a few weeks ago that there would be an International Day of Yoga event here in the Philippines. I don't usually go to events especially if it is not in the budget but I guess luck was on my side because this event is free of admission. I didn't think twice and I just said to myself that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity which I must grab! #IDayofYogaPH Not many know that I have been doing yoga for quite some time now. My first introduction to yoga was from the home workout series called P90X in 2009. The title of the workout was Yoga X and it was a 90 minute-long practice of different variations of yoga. I hated doing it because 90 minutes was a bit long for me! Fortunately, they released a 60 minute version which was more doable for me because my allotted time for working out was between 45 to 60 minutes. One of the greatest benefits that yoga gave me was minimizing my lower back pain. I am not claiming that you start doing yoga when you have lower back issues because it help minimized mine. You should still visit a doctor and have yourself checked-up. In my case, I am a firm believer that our bodies are made to move that is why I did not let myself become stagnant and I practiced yoga cautiously. I began seeing results month after month and that was when my love for yoga started. Today, my two favorite yoga teachers are Travis Eliot from Ultimate Yogi and Kassandra Reinhardt who offers free yoga classes on her YouTube channel. The International Day of Yoga PH opened my eyes to the interesting community of yoga here in the Philippines. There are lots of great yoga studios where you can join and I recommend it to those who want to start their yoga journey. Alternatively, you can also find lots of great yoga teachers online who can certainly attend to your personal preference. I would also like to thank the official photographer of the event, Vincent Duke Photography for allowing me to share their wonderful pictures. I didn't take a lot of videos and pictures because I was concentrating on being present at the moment. I hope this blog post inspired you to step onto your yoga mats and hopefully see most of you in the Yoga events in the future. Until then, stay tuned!☺ P.S. If you want to see unique and interesting captions in a photo album then click right here! Have you ever wondered why you end up having a bad day after a speedy car cut you in the road? A passerby spilled your favorite and expensive caffeinated drink? Or someone stepped on your foot? Those were just some unfortunate scenarios that we normally react to in a negative way but truth be told, no one meant to cause us any harm. The words we speak to ourselves were really at fault when we experience a bad day. As the verse from Proverbs 18:21 (MSG) said: Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose. How powerful are your words? Try to look at this Rice Consciousness experiment by John Vincent which was inspired by the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto. As you can see, our words create energies which have a direct effect to the consciousness of our reality. In simple terms you become what you speak. How can we turn this around? The answer is for us to make an effort to see the positive out of a negative situation. It's really hard when we live in a world where negativity is rampant. Just look at the news, it almost always highlights the negative things happening in the world. But once you get started, your outlook in life will forever change! ☺ As I close this topic, I'd like to share with you the book I've been reading just recently. It's entitled The Complete Afformations Guidebook by Noah St. John. You'll be surprised on how many disempowering questions we ask ourselves everyday and this book shows us how to reverse them and live an empowered life. You can learn more about his book at https://afformations.com/ Please share this article with your families and friends also. #SharingisCaring Until then, stay tuned! ☺ |
